Executive Overview
In the existing internet architecture, user identity is fragmented across hundreds of centralized identity providers (Google, Apple, Auth0, state databases). This creates massive honeypots for data breaches, vendor lock-in, and zero portable reputation across decentralized applications.
As Founder & CEO, Mayank Yadav led the product ideation, market validation, and architecture of Crypticard. The platform allows users to hold verifiable work credentials, KYC attestations, and community reputation tokens in a cryptographic vault on their own devices.
The Identity Dilemma
- Centralized Custody & Data Leaks: Web2 databases store raw PII (Personally Identifiable Information), creating high-value targets for attackers.
- Zero Portable Reputation: Accomplishments, hackathon victories, and professional accreditations earned in one platform cannot be verified trustlessly on another.
- Sybil Vulnerability in Web3: DAOs and protocol airdrops struggle with bot manipulation without intrusive, centralized biometric KYC.
DID & Verifiable Credential Pipeline
The verification protocol utilizes zero-knowledge proofs: a user can prove they are over 18 or a verified resident of a specific jurisdiction without exposing their birth date, legal name, or home address.
Key Capabilities
- Self-Sovereign Key Custody: Private keys remain exclusively on user hardware with optional social recovery.
- Multi-Chain Compatibility: Usable across EVM (Ethereum, Base, Polygon) and Solana dApps.
- Selective Disclosure: Granular permission control over which identity attributes are revealed during verification.
- Sybil-Resistant Soulbound Attestations: Non-transferable credential tokens for developer hackathons and verified professional work history.
Market Validation & Strategic Learnings
Conducted extensive customer validation across 40+ Web3 engineers, DAO contributors, and protocol leads. These insights highlighted that while decentralized identity is essential, the highest near-term economic utility lies in tying identity directly to high-value real-world transactions—a direct insight that helped catalyze the physical asset marketplace model in MRIG.
